Agate
Agate is a semi-pellucid (semi-transparent) variety of quartz. It appears in various forms of patterning - strips (moss), bands ( ribbon) or blended in clouds of colour (dendrite). Different colours varieties have their own name: Brownish- orange agate is known as cornelian, the green variety chrysoprase, the blue variety chalcedony and the brownish-red variety carnelian. Black agate is onyx etc.
Each variation of Agate has it's own unique property, but its most noticable overall properties are balancing yin/yang energy, courage, protection, healing, and calming. Agate enhances creativity and strengthens the intellect, making it a beneficial stone for artists and students. It can cleanse and stabilize the aura and transform negative energy into positive energy.
