Carnelian

Carnelian is a form of Chalcedony Quartz, a member of the cryptycrystalline Quartz family. Cryptocrystalline crystals are too small to be seen, even with a microscope. Carnelian has the same chemical make up as Agate, and very dark brown Carnelian can sometimes be classified as Jasper.
